Dear Colleagues,

In the aftermath of the shocking attacks in Paris last week, it is important that ordinary life should continue, while everyone remains vigilant. There may well be increased security at the borders and when entering the CERN site, which I hope we can all accept with good grace.

In this spirit I am happy to introduce the latest issue of the PH newsletter, which contains articles on the successful completion of the LHC proton running for this year, and the trigger upgrades that have been introduced by the experiments. There are also items on the diverse programme at CERN, including ISOLDE and AWAKE.
