Ekaterine Dadiani

Hello everyone, my name is Eka, I'm from Georgia, The Country, Not The State 🙂 . I was honored to be participant of the amazing Cern summer program as non-member summer student. Coming from a small developing country and getting an opportunity like this is like a “dream come true” experience. Eight weeks is such a long time I used to think before joining Cern, but now I wonder where those weeks have gone! Every day was fulfilled with new hopes, knowledge and exposure to different places and people. This wonderful experience has molded me into a better individual than I was before. Despite lots of ups and a few down moments I can sum up my internship journey as the fruitful phase of my life. This time has filled my life with opportunities and a handful of experiences. From the very first day here at Cern to the final day of my internship I’ve collected life-long memories and invaluable lessons that I have learnt from all the different personalities throughout my internship. My internship project was about computing an analytical method for the wake functions for a circular beam pipe.
The work itself was thrilling. My supervisor was very helpful during my stay at CERN. He helped me to get used to the new responsibility and was always open to questions about study spots, methods, and never stopped cheering my peers and me up, despite all the difficulties that we came through! On the other hand, during these few weeks at my internship, I’ve met a handful of different students who all have varying interests, backgrounds, and stories. I’ve learned the different ways they ended up there, and where they see themselves going in the future. Seeing and listening all these exceptional students gave me a huge motivation of becoming better person and better physicist. Also, I got to explore amazing beauty of Switzerland together with just-met real good friends and had an incredible adventures together.

With the end of my internship and beginning of a new journey of my life I would like to thank all the people I have met, all the places I have been to, all the things I have learnt, all the memories I have made. Cern has given me that opportunity to explore, learn and grow.
