Mirza Basyir Bin Rodhuan

I am Mirza, and I come from Malaysia. I am 3rd year student, take Applied Physics in my university. This is my first time out of my country. Yeah, quite challenging. Firstly I was surprised, be selected to go to CERN. I am actually an introvert person that don’t want to socialize and talk with other people, but then I was changed. After 7th week I was here, I can speak English with confidence, and talk with another summer student from any countries and my colleagues. I spent lot of time for my projects and work. I work at ALPHA, and supervised by Sameed. I asked my supervisor to put me in shifts, because the shift work offers an excellent opportunity to learn about how physics is done at ALPHA, learn more details about the experiment, and experiencing how scientists work.
My colleagues, even though they were busy with their work, they were always volunteering to teach, explain and answer all of my questions. During my stay at CERN, I traveled around France and Switzerland. I had the chance to visit the United Nations in Geneva, Paris, Annecy, Lausanne, Chamonix and for my last weekend, I had planned to go to Rome and Pisa. I love the culture, foods and weather here, those make me don’t want to come back to my country.
I will miss CERN, Geneva and every moment here. When I get back home, I will tell everyone, to join this programme and try to travel in Europe. There are a lot of experiences and knowledge that we need to learn, to define, the meaning of life.
